The crucial role of eye screening in preserving vision health is no secret. This is especially important for kids, as addressing vision impairment can enhance a child’s educational opportunities, boost their self-confidence, and make playing and socializing easier.
Unfortunately, there are 450 million children globally who cannot get the treatment they need for a sight condition.
In honor of World Sight Day (October 10), we are joining forces with the nonprofit Orbis International to raise awareness of the importance of eye screenings, particularly for children. Orbis works in underserved communities worldwide to ensure everyone can access the eye care they need to thrive.
Through a new awareness program, Eye Screen for Ice CreamTM, we are encouraging parents and other caregivers to get eye screenings for a child they love to ensure early detection of vision issues and promote eye health awareness.
And we’ve got a sweet treat for those who take part! The first 100 kids aged 18 and under who get their eyes screened with us will receive a voucher for a free kid’s scoop with the purchase of a standard. The voucher is redeemable at Jeni’s Oakbrook between September 26, 2024 and October 31, 2024.
